The Entertainment Hour

The Entertainment Hour takes place every Friday 2 till 4pm when Matthew Penney joins Leanne to talk about everything entertainment.
From local events in London to red carpet premiers, Matthew and Leanne will certainly be chatting about it and getting exclusive interviews for Westside.
Matthew says "One of the reasons I love working at Westside is the fact that as well as going to these red carpet events (all in the name of work) I also get to go to amazing local fetes, jumble sales and markets which shoot high profile events out the water".
Matthew also works for ‘Unseen TV’ an Australian entertainment production company covering all the events in London for the Australian audience with 10,000 people alone just viewing the website per day.
Matthew also works on a freelance basis for BBC London covering major events for the London region, working for the radio and TV sector, his most recent work with the BBC was for Children In Need. His colleague on the night Konni Huq (ex blue peter presenter) featured on the community show hours before the live event.
To gain some extra experience within the radio sector Matthew also works as a volunteer at ‘University London Hospital’ on the radio station ‘City Beat’. His show focuses on patient requests and current affairs to keep all the patients & staff updated with what’s going on.
In the past Matthew has also worked for BBC Southwest and again his role was focused on covering local events as well as presenting the lunch time news bulletins.
Some of Matthew’s highlights whist working at Westside have included the ‘laughing yoga’ with breakfast show host Andrew, learning how to perfect a pirate accent on ‘National Pirate Week’ with the shows producer Robyn, and of course interviewing some well known names along with some inspiring locals in West London.
